Tightly woven cotton fabric and tight stitching for extra durability are the characteristics of Tozando Aikido hakama. Designed with moves required for Aikido,especially swariwaza in mind, it is also an excellent choice for practitioner of Koryu Bujutsu (Japanese classical martial arts) such as Classical Jiujutsu and Kenjutsu which require stronger hakama. Traditional 7 pleats design. Flexible rubber koshiita (hipboard) that will not interfere when performing ushiro-ukemi. Front of the hakama is slightly shorter than the back so wearer can move more freely without fear of tripping.Default front obi length 420cm(approx 168 inches), rear obi length 205cm (approx 82inches).Color: Navy or Black.

Made of durable polyester fabric, our deluxe polyester hakama is easy to care and quick drying. Flexible koshiita insert will not interfere with ushiro ukemi and front of the hakama is made slightly shorter than back to allow wearer freedom of movement without fear of tripping.

DIV>This Premium Indigo-Dyed Cotton Aikido Hakama is not a typical Hakama available today. It is made with only the best cotton yarn, using methods that have been passed down through Japan's long history of craftsmanship. The fabric is not dyed after the construciton, as in the norm today, rather it is crafted via the traditional multi-step process that has made Japan's indigo dye famous through out the world. First the cotton yarn itself is soaked in the container of indigo dyed until all the dye is fully absorbed. Then the yarn is wrung and set to dry under the sun. This process of dyeing and oxidizing is repeated over and over again until the yarn takes on the proper shade of color as determined by the master craftsman, Keishi Takemura, the nationally recognized Master of Cultural Arts. Traditionally dyed Hakama has the added benefit of conforming to your personality. The more you wear it - the more unique they will become - the more it will be come a part of you Tough and flexible special rubber Koshiita insert. Seven line of stitching. 420 cm long for front Obi and 205 cm long for rear Obi. NOTE: The genuine indigo color does come off and may stain other garments and facility(as Dojo mat floor). It takes approxiamtely one week for the production.

This hakama is made of extra durable and light-weight Tetron fabric which is 65% polyester/35% rayon blend and the matte texture gives the orthodox appearance on the Hakama. The pleats have been specifically well-ironed then stitched to maintain their shape as long as you own it.
